• Project Title:
  • Delayed Mail at the Denver P&DC
  • Start Date:
  • Thursday, June 21, 2018
  • Estimated Report Release Date:
  • December 2018

The U.S. Postal Service considers mail to be delayed when it is not processed in time to meet the established delivery day. Delayed mail can adversely affect Postal Service customers and harm the organization's brand.

Since October 1, 2017, delayed mail at the Denver Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC) increased by about 48 percent compared to the prior year.

Our objective is to determine the cause of delayed mail at the Denver P&DC.

  • How has delayed mail at the Denver P&DC affected you?
  • What steps could the Denver P&DC take to reduce delayed mail?

Yes, I keep thinking it's my post office not sending packages but now after reading this it's the Denver processing plant that isn't scanning. Right now I have a package that seems to be sitting at my post office for 5 days. I'm sure its sitting in Denver. What can be done about this? The usps takes no responsibility and leaves us in limbo. Its ridiculous. Even though it's more expensive I will start shipping fed ex.

I've been impacted by no mail, delay of mail, mail delivered to the wrong address, and postal employees that consistently lie to law enforcement, and nothing has been done. Epic fail USPS OIG

The mail being delayed is costing me time with my family. Also costing millions in down time while we wait every day. I'm a CCA at Boulder Valmont and having to work this many hours is going to hurt someone from being tierd. Don't expect a response as I have seen the lack of respect from USPS. Thanks.
