The Planning and Operations program area focuses on audit-policy and -procedure development, budgeting, oversight administration, and audit reporting and tracking, among other subjects. It consists of the Audit Operations and Strategic Assessment directorate.
The Audit Operations Directorate assists the OIG Office of Audit by sharing and building collective knowledge of core audit functions. The directorate manages and maintains key documents, guides, policies, links, and contacts.
The Strategic Assessment directorate is responsible for conducting audits and evaluations of significant issues that cut across the Postal Service’s many functional areas, including retail, delivery, and operations. The team takes a comprehensive approach to research and fieldwork to uncover root causes of some of the Postal Service’s most complex challenges.
