We’re back! The partial government shutdown has ended, and the OIG is back in business. Our website, Hotline, blog, and all our social media activities are up and running, and we’re anxious to hear from you.

You may have wondered why we were furloughed but the Postal Service was not.

The Postal Service’s operations are funded from the sale of postage and fees. Hence, it was fully operational during the shutdown.

But the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006 established the USPS Office of Inspector General as a separately funded entity, for which Congress must, each year, appropriate funds. So, even though the Postal Service was funded and operating, we had to shut down due to the lapse in appropriations.

Next week we will continue with our weekly blog – keep an eye out for our top 10 postal stories of 2018.

Your CAPTCHA is not working or I am blind. It hard filing anything with your office. Your station manager at Wagner talks to employees like they a tail and that is one of the things that causes shootings on the job. He drives around in the company car talking on his cell phone looking like a dope dealer and that is against the law.
