The objective of this audit was to express an opinion as to whether the closing package financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position and results of the Postal Service as of and for the fiscal year (FY) ending September 30, 2016, and its net costs and changes in net position for the year then ended, in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.
